You're bidding against 1-800-Got-Junk, College Hunks, and Junk King in the most competitive junk removal auction in Northern California. I've already put a Bay Area hauler above all three — 98.14% top impression rate, inside 30 days.

$1,500 a month. You deal with me.
Nobody plans a junk removal job. Somebody's standing in a garage looking at a dead treadmill, or a landlord just walked into a unit a tenant abandoned, or a couch didn't fit through the door of a new apartment. The search happens on a phone, within arm's reach of the pile, and the decision takes about ninety seconds.
That means position is worth more than persuasion. They are not reading your About page. They are looking at the first two or three names, checking whether the star rating looks real, and tapping call. If you're the fourth result, you don't exist.
The other thing that defines this trade: same-day intent. A meaningful share of these searches include "today," "same day," or "now." Someone who can answer the phone at 2pm and be there by 5pm wins jobs that a franchise with a centralized dispatch queue and a two-day booking window physically cannot.
The franchises are buying every metro in the country. Their targeting is broad, their ad copy is generic, and their pricing is fixed nationally — which means it's often wrong for a specific San Jose job. Their advantage is budget. Their weakness is that they can't be specific.
You can be. You can bid on the neighborhoods you actually service, at the hours you actually answer, for the job types you actually want. In San Jose specifically that matters because the city is big enough that a blanket citywide campaign wastes real money — a Willow Glen job and an Evergreen job aren't the same drive or the same customer.
Between Jun 7 and Jul 6, 2026, within 30 days of launching Local Services Ads, Spartan held the top impression position 98.14% of the time, above 1-800-Got-Junk, College Hunks, and Junk King on nearly every relevant Bay Area search.
Same campaign type, same competitors, same market. Thirty minutes to find out what it'd take for you.
Book a call →Local Services Ads is the primary channel for this trade and it isn't close. The listing sits above every paid ad and above the map pack, carries the Google Guaranteed badge, and puts a call button in front of someone who wants to call. You pay per lead rather than per click, which suits a job that's decided in ninety seconds.
Search Ads covers what LSA can't. LSA's job categories are narrow — commercial cleanouts, construction debris, estate clearances, hot tub and piano removal, and appliance recycling all get searched specifically and often fall outside them. Those are also frequently the bigger tickets.
The Performance Max campaign I ran for Spartan is the second half of this story: conversions from 7 to 17 in three months at $80.94 per acquisition, and it hit its daily budget ceiling — meaning demand was there and budget wasn't.
This is the calculation most haulers never actually do, and it's the one that decides whether your advertising works.
A single-item pickup and a full property cleanout are the same lead in Google's eyes and completely different businesses on your P&L. If your average booked job is a $150 mattress haul, a lead in the $70–$90 range is brutal. If your average is a $700 garage clearout, that same lead is one of the cheapest customer acquisitions available to a small business anywhere.
So the first thing I'd want from you is three numbers: your average job value, your close rate on inbound calls, and how many jobs a day you can physically run. Everything else — budget, service radius, which job types to bid on — falls out of those. San Jose has enough volume that the constraint is almost never demand; it's how many trucks you have and how fast you answer.
The other lever specific to this trade: dispute management. Junk removal LSA generates a real volume of junk leads — wrong numbers, people wanting free hauling, jobs 40 minutes outside your radius. Every one you don't dispute is money you keep paying for.

Seasonal spikes and replacement jobs worth thousands.
Adjacent market, shorter drives, heavy tenant turnover.
